These one-of-a-kind Artisan Batiks are produced on the island of Java in Indonesia by skilled dye masters. Lunn Studios is working directly with the dyers in Java in developing new looks and different styles of fabrics in keeping with their ongoing commitment to providing what is missing in the fabric market.
Each yard of these sumptuous fabrics is unique. The fabric is hand-stamped and then hand-painted multiple times, with many different pairs of hands working on every yard. Most of the work is done outside, so the weather greatly influences the results. Due to this specialized hand-process, there is a consistency to color and pattern, while maintaining subtle color variations that are so important to this traditional technique.

The quantity button will allow you to purchase fat quarters (listed as 1/4 yards), half yards, full yards or 1-1/2 yard cuts. The price is listed next to the size in the drop down menu. Multiple quantities will be cut in a single continuous piece unless otherwise stated. Do not order more yardage than what is listed in the drop down box.
Example: If you wish to purchase 3 yards, select the 1 yard cut from the drop down menu and then a quantity of 3. You can purchase multiple lengths of the same fabric as long as it does not exceed the total quantity listed on the drop down menu.
Choose your cut:
1 yard (36″ x 44″)
1.5 yard (54″ x 44″)
1/2 yard (18″ x 44″)
1/4 yard (18″ x 22″) Fat Quarter
NOTE: If you prefer an actual 1/4 yard cut (9″ x 44″) please indicate so in the “Notes” section of your order!
Fabric cut sizes are approximate as the width of cotton fabrics can vary between 43 and 45 inches. All fabric is cut with a rotary cutter on a ruled mat to provide you with the straightest cuts possible.
If you need a custom listing for a length not listed or would like help in coordinating or calculating yardage for your projects, please convo me or request a custom listing via the custom order button at the top right of this page. Sometimes we have more fabric in stock than what is listed. If for some reason we have less fabric than shown, we will contact you for instructions.
Shipping is via first class mail from the post office for up to 2 yards. 3 to 8 yards ship via a priority flat rate envelope. We use calculated shipping based on weight. Should any significant overcharge in the shipping charges happen due to a combined or multiple yard purchase, it will be refunded to you. The maximum domestic shipping charge for up to 15 yards of fabric is $6.75 unless a shipping upgrade is chosen. Shipping upgrades are available at check-out. All fabric is from a smoke free home.
We try to show multiple images of each fabric we sell. The first image is from the Manufacturer or supplier. The second image usually displays a ruler so that you can get an idea of the size of the fabric design and pattern. Third or fourth images are usually close up shots and/or will show the actual fabric bolt. NOTE: Sometimes the pictures we take vary in color from the
manufacturer’s picture due to our cameras, lighting and other factors. The first image will be the most accurate in displaying the true color(s).
